Ash to appear at Cannes Film Festival with ‘Beti B’

Former beauty queen and Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been a regular face at Cannes for decades. Her long association with international beauty brand L’Oreal lands the actress on the red carpet of Cannes for so many years. But this time, it’s going to be an exception, she will be accompanied by her five months daughter, Aaradhya. Well, this will be the little angels second foreign trip as recently, she visited Dubai with her mom. Last year, Aishwarya walked the red carpet with filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar. At the event, Madhur gladly announced his highly anticipated film, Heroine starring Ash but soon the project was shelved when Amitabh declared Aishwarya’s pregnancy. Later, Madhur roped Kareena Kapoor as the lead actress of Heroine. Cannes film festival is one of the world’s great premiere film events and it is another golden opportunity for Ash to renew her contacts with Hollywood filmmakers. Apart from Aishwarya, Arjun Rampal, Bipasha Basu will also be at Cannes. Being the ambassador of liquor brand Chivas, the actor is likely to be accompanied by his designer friend Rohit Bal. The actor had recently expressed his desire to showcase his upcoming film Heroine at Cannes. “I would love to be (a part of Cannes festival). That is a film that deserves to be there. If Heroine can be showcased there, it will be great,” said Arjun. Bipasha will be there to promote her new film Singularity opposite Hollywood hottie Josh Hartnett. Aishwarya and her wardrobe at Cannes always get special mention. Let’s see this time how the new mother turns up for the event.

Aamir Khan’s son Azad makes TV debut

Aamir Khan’s new TV show, ‘Satyamev Jayate’ is making news for varied reasons. First, Aamir had to face the ire of his wife Kiran for shooting the promo inside his Bandra house and blemishing their privacy and now he went a step further by shooting a promo featuring Azad without Kiran’s knowledge. However, he has decided to keep the footage strictly for family viewing as Kiran does not like the promo of Azad to be publicly viewed. The actor admits, “Half the time I shot the campaign, Azad was in my lap,” and adds, “Once when Kiran wasn’t around, we even shot a promo featuring Azad. At first, I told her that we shot a promo with him and it looked very good. Then I told her that I was kidding and we wouldn’t use it.” Aamir said that Azad is a happy baby with a good temperament and an amazing smile. Aamir, however, says that he gets to see his child only at night as he is busy working outside. “Earlier, I was working from home, so I spent a lot more time with him. But now that I’m shooting and return late, I wake him up very gently.” Adding, “When he sees me, his face lights up. I spend an hour or so with him before going to bed.” Recalling the days when Junaid and Ira, Aamir’s kids with ex-wife Reena, were born, the actor said, “I spent a lot of time at home after Junaid was born. During Ira’s birth, I was working. So I’d spend as much time with her and Junaid when I got home”. The presence of Kiran and Azad on the set of Satyamev Jayate makes Aamir emotional, he states, “So one thing that is anchoring my emotions while the show is on is the presence of Kiran and Azad around me.”

Raj Kumar’s daughter harassing Shahid

The identity of the girl who has been harassing Shahid Kapoor for a long time has finally been revealed. She is the daughter of late actor Raj Kumar namely Vastavikta Pandit. She has turned Shahid’s life into a living hell. She jumped the wall of his building, blocked his road, and knocked at his door at odd hours and above all claimed to be he’s wife. “She moved into a house next to his building, introduced herself as his wife, blocks his car’s path and even follows him to his shoots,” says a source. Being the daughter of a late actor of Bollywood, Shahid did not take any legal action against the girl but enough is enough and he can’t take it anymore he says. The actor has filed a complaint against the girl at the Versova Police Station through his manager. Vastavikta met Shahid at Shiamak Davar’s dance classes a few years ago and fell in love with him. She followed Shahid for nine months everywhere. The police have registered a non-cognisable offence against the stalker and they are trying to trace Vastavikta who’s missing, and would issue her with a warning. Vastavikta made her Bollywood debut in the supernatural thriller Eight Shani.

John Abraham commends SRK’s detention…

The entire nation condemned Shah Rukh Khan’s detention at the US airport on his recent visit to Yale University but actor John Abraham feels that the airport authorities are doing their duty and there is nothing wrong with it. He believes that every country should work for the safety measure of their civilians. John said, “Every country does its due diligence. Getting into India for foreigners is like hell… it`s not easy. The US is also doing whatever they can to make their country safe, so it is justified. It all depends on how personally you take the issue, and Shah Rukh handled it with a lot of grace.” The hunk however feels that the reason for SRK’s detention might be primarily because of his origin. John shared his story when he was detained for six long hours, he said, “I have been in that detention space, where the FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) was called in because I had Afganistan mentioned in my passport, as I had shot there for two months for my film Kabul Express. There wasn`t much hue and cry about this as I never wanted to use the incident as a media peg for the film. I was in for six hours and I was asked the strangest questions. And of course, Shah Rukh would agree that racial profiling could be a pretty much correct term for it (interrogation) because it’s mostly coloured people who are detained.” Before this Shah Rukh was detained twice. While Nita Ambani, wife of Reliance industry Mukesh Ambani and few others was released but SRK was held for two long hours and questioned. The university officials highly regretted the matter.

Deepika, Ranbir uncomfortable doing intimate scene!

Ex-flame Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor are shooting for Ayan Mukherjee’s ‘Yeh Jaawani Hai Deewani’ and Ayan being a close friend of both Deepika and Ranbir decided to skip the intimate scene between them. Ayan understood that the duo won’t be comfortable doing an intimate scene post break-up and hence he has decided to give away with intimate, lip-locking scenes between the two. According to a source, “Considering the kind of close friendship Ayan shares with Ranbir, he’s aware of the relationship the actor shared with Deepika. At the same time, he was also well aware of their split when he offered his film to her. His story has a few intimate scenes between the lead pair.” Being a thorough professional, the actors were reported to have no qualms doing the scenes. “Keeping in mind that they’re thorough professionals, it would be natural to expect them to play their parts as actors. However, that time the shooting had not started. Now that the filming is underway, Ayan has changed his mind, “said the source. Though Deepika and Ranbir are working together, Ayan could sense the difference between them. “Though they’re like friends, doing intimate scenes in front of the camera is a different thing altogether. So, if Ayan senses any awkwardness on either part of them, especially Deepika, in the intimate scenes, then he’d rather do away with them. If that comfort level is not there to be seen on camera, then that could affect the overall chemistry they share in the film,” the source said.

SRK gives parenting tips to Shilpa’s hubby!

Shilpa Shetty is pregnant with her first child from Raj Kundra and she is due next month. Her husband Raj met SRK at a recent IPL match and there SRK was heard giving parenting tips to Raj Kundra. The actor spoke in detail as how to take care of the baby and the mother. Shilpa declared the news of her pregnancy on twitter and always keeps updating about her health and her feelings. Shilpa tweeted that she is enjoying the phase of pre-motherhood. SRK and Shilpa shared screen space in Bazigaar and both are good friends. Raj and SRK are owners of IPL teams and they established a good relationship. We all know SRK is a great father and a loving husband. Sure, Raj will be benefitted with he’s tips. First, he was dragged into controversy for his alleged relationship with Priyanka Chopra and now he landed into another controversy by kissing Katrina Kaif at an award event. If this is not enough, Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif was accidently locked in his vanity van for one hour. This happened soon after the kissing incident. Shah Rukh has raised many eyebrows when he cast a kiss on Kat’s cheek after her performance. Kat looked stunning in a pink shiffon saree. It is also heard that she left for her performance soon after King Khan left the van.

When Kareena said NO to Angelina!

Madhur Bhandarkar wanted Kareena Kapoor to watch Angelina Jolie’s award-winning TV film, Gia (1998), to prepare for her role in his upcoming project ‘Heroine’. However, the actress wasn’t very keen with Bhandarkar’s idea and immediately refused to do so. Says an insider, “He wanted Kareena to watch Gia because of Angelina’s performance. Although Bebo understands the character, the idea was to help her get a tighter grip on the intricacies. But she wanted to keep things natural.” Confirming the news, Kareena said, “Yes, Madhur said, ‘watch Gia and look at Jolie’s performance.’ But I told him to let me get into Heroine completely blank. I asked him to guide me. I don’t want to take on performances of other actors. I want to play the role like I essay other parts, in a natural way. I don’t want to prepare for it.” Kareena Kapoor recently completed the first schedule of Heroine. The second will start in Feb 2012.
